Wedding Jitters

Wedding day nerves hit Colin hard. He fidgets, jaw tight, while his bride Amy smooths his lapel. Martha watches them both, then tells Amy to fetch snacks. She stays behind. Minutes later, the door swings open. Amy freezes in the doorway, tray in hand, catching Colin with his mouth locked on Martha's bare breast. Martha doesn't flinch. She strokes his hair and explains how Colin's always needed this, how nothing else settled him. The truth settles like a stone in Amy's gut. She nearly bolts, but Martha's words hook her: the boy she loves is the same man she's marrying, needs and all. If Amy walks now, nothing changes for him. If she stays, maybe she can learn the trick too. She sets the tray down. Martha shifts, offering space. Amy moves closer, eyes locked on Colin's mouth, heart hammering, deciding whether to take the step that will bind all three of them before the vows are even spoken.
