Riding The Lightning

The For Rent sign is lit red above Ivy's Room. Anna Claire Clouds checks in, and Ivy's been waiting. She wants her so bad the air gets heavy before either one touches skin. Anna wants it too - you can feel the want burning off her like heat off a hood. When it hits, it's like current slamming into water, raw, shuddering, impossible to look away from. I caught some of that jolt and my nerves are still snapping under the skin.
