A Teachable Moment

Serene didn't know what to do with Lola. Her once-sweet stepdaughter had turned moody, dumping clothes in dirty heaps and blowing off every attempt to connect. It got so bad Serene finally cornered her, only to watch the yelling explode. When the dust settled, Serene steadied her breath and tried to dig. "Is this about boys?" Lola scowled. "Boys are dumb." Serene caught the drift and asked about girls. Lola cracked. Yeah—crushing on straight chicks, zero luck. They hadn't even touched one. Serene offered a way back in. "Let me show you what it's like with another woman." Lola lit up. Clothes hit the floor. Mouths met. Hands traced skin—slow, wet, open. They learned each curve together until Lola's old grin flooded back, raw and spent.
