Parent-Teacher Trap

Miss Morgan sits at her desk, red pen carving through homework like she’s filleting flesh. The apple gleams beside her elbow. One page makes her freeze. She snaps two sheets together, lips twitching. “Unbelievable,” she mutters. Her eyes lock on the name at the top and the pen drops with a tiny crack.
She grabs the phone. “Cheryl Best? History teacher. Your girl and I need to talk. Here. Now.” She slams the receiver down and taps the plastic twice, each rap sounding like a countdown.
They file in—step-mother and step-daughter—heels and sneakers against linoleum. Miss Morgan doesn’t waste breath. “Mandy’s been copying. Second time I’ve caught her.”
Cheryl’s mouth drops. Mandy stutters about pressure, eighteen, finals, colleges. Miss Morgan cuts the excuses. Expulsion is one signature away.
Panic rises like cheap perfume. Cheryl offers bribes, favors, donations. Every word makes the teacher’s jaw clench. Finally, Miss Morgan names her price. “Spank her. Right here.”
Cheryl refuses, then folds when the principal’s office is threatened. Mandy bends, skirt lifted, eyes shut. The first slap cracks through the empty classroom. Miss Morgan’s breath hitches. Fingers slide down her own blouse, cupping, pinching, lost in the rhythm.
Cheryl feels the heat behind her and stops cold. “We’re leaving.”
“Leaving seals it,” the teacher warns, voice low and oily. “I’ll tell everyone how you stripped your own daughter for me.”
Silence thickens. Shirts rustle. Buttons pop. The door stays shut, lock already twisted. Miss Morgan watches them like prey that walked willingly into her cage, lips curling around a smile that tastes of copper.
