More Than Her Nanny

Gabi stands in the doorway when Rachel comes home, wiping her palms on her jeans. They trade easy talk about the kids' week—nothing heavy—until Rachel mentions packing for the beach. Gabi smiles at the thought of them getting away. Then Rachel says it flat out: Gabi should come. The room goes quiet. Gabi swallows and the words tumble out before she can stop them: she's had it bad for Rachel, probably since day one. Rachel watches her for a second, jaw tight, like she's sizing the confession from every angle, and something inside her gives. The air thickens. They shift closer until the first kiss happens on a ragged breath, hands clumsy, then not. Clothing drops where it lands. Rachel pins Gabi to the sofa, legs parting, and Gabi returns the favor—tongues, fingers, quick little gasps that say more than sentences. Sweat-slick, they take their time learning each other until neither can pretend it's only about want. Every thrust, every bitten-off moan pulls them tighter until they come hard, breathing into each other's mouths like they're afraid the other might vanish. Afterward they lie tangled, hearts still hammering, holding the new thing that just started without saying its name.
