Women's World: Part Two

Leslie’s dropping her purse when a wild-eyed stranger slams into her. Linda spits some crazed garbage and vanishes. Leslie scoops up her ID, and in that second something snaps across her brain—too fast to name, gone before it sticks. Amber’s pitched her tent miles from anywhere, dirt under her nails, running from the same itch that just wrecked her last hookup. She can still taste Diane on her tongue: the news anchor’s legs locked around her waist, the live mic on the desk catching every wet slap until the segment cut to black. Camping alone was the plan. No women. No relapse. Rebecca’s at her aunt Karen’s kitchen table, listening to Karen swear nothing’s wrong while the room screams otherwise. Every word’s a dead end. Rebecca bolts. At the salon, Amanda works on another client while Tanya steers Leslie to the chair. Leslie’s thoughts keep stalling on that flash from earlier. The moment her head hits the rest, it hits again—sharper, hungrier—then flickers out. Rebecca finds Julie already waiting. One look and they know. They crash together, mouths open, clothes half-ripped. Julie’s nails dig in; Rebecca answers with teeth. They fuck like they’re trying to swallow the new world whole, sweat-slick and gasping, determined to make every second count before whatever’s broken fixes itself.
