Kenna and April hadn't seen each other in months. Work was killing them, girlfriends took whatever crumbs were left. Over coffee Kenna suggested they just mix the worlds: double date, introduce the girls, laugh at the chaos. April grinned, said she'd run it by Emma. Phones pinged later that night—Saturday, their place, bring booze. Kenzie looked excited, checking the wine, smoothing her dress. Kenna buzzed April in. But the moment the door opened and Emma stepped forward, Kenzie froze. Emma’s eyebrows snapped together like a trap. Two ice queens staring across old territory. Kenna shot April a desperate glance. They slipped into the kitchen, whispered, plotted. Talk it out. Bury the hatchet. They went back in and found their girlfriends tongue-deep in each other on the couch, hands already under clothes. "It’s handled," Emma said without bothering to look up, lips swollen. Kenzie smirked, fingers brushing Emma’s thigh like nothing had changed. Kenna and April stood dumbstruck, until Kenzie lifted her head, voice low, almost taunting. "You started this double date. Might as well finish it together." She nodded toward the bedroom, leaving no doubt what she meant. Kenna felt heat surge under her skin—guilt, thrill, something darker. April swallowed, eyes bright, and closed the door behind them.
