Emma Hix and Haley Reed burst into the bedroom, slam the door shut, and dive onto the bed with the bag between them. "Christ, I thought last period would never end," Emma pants. Emma mocks her with a raspy gangster voice, and Haley tells her to shut the fuck up, laughing the same dry laugh. They both agree this is definitely not their scene. A breath of silence. "Let’s see it," Haley orders. Emma cracks the zipper. Their eyes go wide at the sight. Neither has ever laid hands on anything like this, not outside a cheesy after-school scare reel. Haley’s voice drops: "It’s supposed to give you, like… a real rush, right?" Emma nods, says it’s supposed to feel incredible. Another pause. "You ready?" Haley swallows. "I think so." She shoots the question back. Emma nods again, even though her hands are shaking. She slips her fingers inside the bag and Haley leans in, stops short, voice shaking as she says she can’t do it after all. Relief shoots across Emma’s face like a lightning bolt. "Thank fuck," she blurts. They dissolve into nervous giggles, then sink quiet again when they think about the walking disaster who scored it for them. They’re eighteen and still won’t break curfew; maybe they’re scared of every kind of high. Emma’s gaze slips sideways, a tiny smile curling. "Well… there’s one way to feel good that’s a whole lot safer," she teases, cheeks flushing. Haley’s eyes spark with something darker. "Show me," she whispers, suddenly close enough that breath turns into heat. Emma’s hand slides up Haley’s thigh and settles over damp cotton. Haley lets out a sharp, needy sound, pushes forward, and kisses Emma like she’s starving for it. They don’t need chemicals; they’ve got hands, mouths, and every inch they haven’t tried yet.
