Aila’s vacuuming and finds Emma’s phone. She fires off texts to Rebecca posing as Emma. Tells her to come over right away. The game’s set, she pockets the evidence like a pro. Rebecca shows up, all teeth and smiles, gets punched in the gut by the sight of Aila instead. Door swings wide, “Come in,” Aila purrs. She’s playing stupid on the texts like it’s nothing, just mother-daughter stuff. They sit. Aila starts small, “Worried you’re not serious about Emma. First girl on girl, right? One bad taste could make you bolt. Not watching Emma come home crying.” Rebecca stammers, tries to swear undying love. Aila cuts her off. “Talk’s cheap. I need to know you’re giving my kid the fucking she deserves.” Rebecca’s face is scarlet. She argues they’re good together. Aila presses harder: young, green, twenty-something curiosity. Rebecca blurts an offer to prove it. Aila smiles with teeth, “Only one way: you and me. Now. Get it right or you never see Emma again.” Rebecca swallows, nods, already unbuttoning her shirt. Aila closes the door behind them like a vault—once she’s had the proof, nobody else is going anywhere.
